YuGo SEND End-Ball tournaments bring teamwork and energy to Oxstalls

End-Ball YuGo

YuGo recently hosted two brilliant SEND End-Ball tournaments for primary and secondary pupils at Oxstalls Sports Park, University of Gloucestershire. We welcomed 10 schools and 125 pupils from across the county for two action-packed days:

  • Alderman Knight School
  • Belmont School
  • Bettridge School
  • Cotswold Chine School
  • Hartmore School
  • Heart of the Forest Community Special School
  • Springfields Academy
  • The Milestone School
  • The Shrubberies School
  • William Morris School

Specialist schools came together to compete, connect and enjoy a fast-paced game built on teamwork and communication.

End-Ball is an invasion-style game that focuses on passing, defensive tactics and movement into space. Played in a similar way to netball or bench-ball, teams work together to move the ball up the court and score in the end zone. It’s energetic, tactical and gives every player the opportunity to get involved – making it a fantastic accessible sport.

The atmosphere across both tournaments was competitive but always supportive, with pupils encouraging one another and showing real pride in their teams.

Heart of the Forest School, Shrubberies School and Milestone School were crowned tournament winners – a huge congratulations to all three schools for their fantastic performances.

“It’s been well organised. The enthusiasm has been really good, they’ve got everyone involved and kept the morale going. It’s been a really good day!”

Carys – Teacher, Heart of the Forest Community Special School

“I’m really proud of our team for winning and I’m really proud of the other teams. They tried their best and that’s what counts.”

We were also incredibly proud of our YuGo Sports Leaders from Rednock School, who supported both events with enthusiasm. They played a key role in ensuring the days ran smoothly and that every pupil felt welcomed.

Events like this highlight what inclusive sport can look like when it’s designed with care – building confidence, teamwork and a genuine love of movement.

At YuGo, we believe sport should be accessible, meaningful and enjoyable for everyone. These tournaments were a brilliant example of that in action.

Making movement meaningful

At YuGo, we know that a love of sport starts at school and we’re here to make sure that every child, no matter their ability, has a chance to find their place and enjoy sport. Our mission is simple: close the gap in access to sport and help young people build healthy, happy lives through physical activity.
